The word “Thanks” means “expression of gratitude.” Thanksgiving is a “public celebration of divine goodness; a day set apart… to acknowledge the goodness of God, either in any remarkable deliverance from calamities or danger, or in the ordinary dispensation of His bounties” (Webster, 1828).
“What are you thankful for?” This time of year, people often ask this question. I really love Thanksgiving because of this question. It gives me a chance to pause and reflect on how God has blessed me. During the month of November, you often see on social media the “30 days of Thanksgiving.” This is an abbreviated version.
