This sermon from Ephesians 2 examines a sinners condition before Christ. Mankind is born spiritually dead. There are three enemies of God: the world, the devil, and the flesh. The result of this condition is that men and women are sons of disobedience and children of wrath. Fortunately, there is a phrase at the beginning of v. 4 that changes everything: "But God..." When someone trusts Christ, their position changes, they are now "in Christ" and have been "made alive!" The sermon closes by looking at the role of works in the life of a follower of Christ. The implications of this text are also discussed. You can download the bulletin as well as the notes for this week. God bless!
